Le Fleur at Phipps Botanical Garden
The title and theme, “Le Fleur,” drew me into the elegance of French historical fashion, where I found inspiration in silhouettes, layers, and detailed intricacies. With deep gratitude to the Rare Book and Special Collections Department at the Carnegie Library, whose treasures inspired my vision, I translated that history into a living botanical creation. Woven Robellini leaves, Ti leaves, and Leucadendron came together, anchored by a basket-woven river reed corset—the sole non-living element in a work that sought to bring the past to life.
